Turkish Court Clears Russian Femactivist’s Fiancé of Murder Charges

In a surprising turn ⁢of events, the‍ court in Erzurum, Turkey, has acquitted Syrian student Mohammad⁤ Nizar Arnabeh of the murder charges involving Russian femactivist Anastasia Yemelyanova. The news was ‍reported by “Mediazona,” citing a close friend of the deceased, ⁤Julia Safronova.

Yemelyanova, aged 32, tragically lost her life in September ‍2023 in Erzurum, where she had​ recently relocated​ with her fiancé, 29-year-old Mohammad Arnabeh. Her lifeless body was discovered in their apartment, covered in blood. Arnabeh was initially accused of intentionally causing her death by ⁣assaulting her and inflicting a fatal‌ wound with a piece of glass.

Throughout the ⁢investigation, Arnabeh’s account of the events shifted multiple times: ‌from claiming it was an accidental push‌ during an argument ⁤to admitting ‌to using the glass as a weapon, only⁢ to later deny any involvement in the‍ incident altogether.

Prior⁣ to her⁤ untimely demise, Yemelyanova had left Russia for Turkey in 2022, where she crossed paths with Arnabeh. She was ⁣actively⁤ engaged in feminist and anti-war movements, supporting initiatives like “Eve’s Ribs” and “Open Space,” and co-hosting the popular YouTube channel “Feminists Explain.”
