(Bloomberg) — A technical issue at the New York Stock Exchange caused trading halts for several companies, including Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. and Abbott Laboratories, due to volatility shortly after the market opened.
According to NYSE, the problem was related to the limit up-limit down trading bands that regulate when stocks are paused during volatile periods. This disruption follows a recent glitch that affected the S&P 500 Index and ongoing changes in settlement times for US stock trades.
“NYSE Equities is currently investigating a reported technical issue,” as stated on their online status page. More details will be provided soon.
