Dungeons & Dragons offers a plethora of spells that can aid players in battle, but it also has a fair share of spells that can create chaos. With so many spells to choose from in DnD fifth edition, knowing which ones to use to unleash chaos is half the battle. From turning unsuspecting villagers into bunnies to shrinking their own party members on a whim, there are some spells that are perfect for silliness.
Spellcasters are some of the most powerful characters in DnD and often feature as some of the main villains. However, not all players want to play that kind of spellcaster. Whether a player wants to disrupt combat or generally be a nuisance to other players, these spells will definitely help with that task.
Chaotic spells aren’t necessarily about practical uses, and enlarge/reduce is great for messing with other DnD players and NPCs. This is because the spell can target unwilling creatures, who have to make a Constitution saving throw or be affected by the spell’s effects for one minute. While the obvious idea would be to shrink other characters at random, enlarging them at inappropriate times is also hilarious.

Confusion is a fourth-level enchantment available for bards, druids, wizards, and sorcerers, with lots of great combat use. The spell targets all creatures within a 10-foot radius, or larger if cast at a higher level, who must make Wisdom saving throws to retain control over their minds. Confusion, when used carefully, can turn the tide in battle, but it can also really mess with other DnD players.
