Futures on the Nasdaq 100 led the way, rising over 0.2% or approximately 40 points. S&P 500 (^GSPC) futures also increased by around 0.2%, while Dow Jones Industrial Average (^DJI) futures gained 0.1% following the blue-chip index’s 10th consecutive win on Friday.
This week marks the start of earnings season, with over 150 companies on the S&P 500 scheduled to report. The focus is on the results of Big Tech companies such as Microsoft (MSFT), Alphabet (GOOGL), and Meta (META), as the Nasdaq was negatively impacted by Tesla (TSLA) and Netflix (NFLX) second-quarter reports last week.
Investors are also preparing for the Federal Reserve’s interest-rate decision at the conclusion of its policymaker meeting on Wednesday, which is widely anticipated to result in a rate hike.
