It appears that Ukrainian studio 4A Games, known for their work on the Metro game series, is currently preparing to develop a new AAA game and is actively seeking specialists for this project. This announcement was made on the official Twitter account of the company.
In their tweet, 4A Games invites professionals to join them in the development of a “new massive project in the field of AAA games.” Although the accompanying animation in the tweet belongs to the Metro series, it seems that this time they are referring to a completely new intellectual property (IP). This assumption is supported by the list of job openings available on the company’s website, some of which are explicitly labeled as NEW IP.
So, what could this new IP be? If we consider the information that has already surfaced on the internet, it is possible that they are referring to the same science fiction shooter with survival elements set on a distant planet, a concept that Andriy Prokhorov came up with in 2013.
Regarding 4A Games’ most recent release, Metro Exodus, it was launched in 2019 and received positive feedback from the gaming community. As of February 2022, the game has sold over 6 million copies.
Currently, as previously reported, 4A Games is actively working on the development of Metro 4, which will once again be set in Moscow.
