A California company tasked with implementing the state’s civil rights legal guidelines has reportedly filed a lawsuit in opposition to Tesla, alleging racial discrimination and harassment occurred on the electric-car maker.
The California Department of Fair Employment and Housing stated it filed the grievance Wednesday in Alameda County Superior Court.

“After receiving a whole bunch of complaints from staff, DFEH discovered proof that Tesla’s Fremont manufacturing facility is a racially segregated office the place Black staff are subjected to racial slurs and discriminated in opposition to in job assignments, self-discipline, pay, and promotion making a hostile work atmosphere,” Kevin Kish, the company’s director, stated in a press release to the Wall Street Journal.
Tesla did not instantly reply to a request for remark however criticized the company’s investigation in a weblog publish.
“Tesla strongly opposes all types of discrimination and harassment and has a devoted Employee Relations group that responds to and investigates all complaints,” Tesla stated within the publish.
