Tesla is reducing prices on certain Model 3 and Model Y vehicles in the US, as reported by CNBC. This is the automaker’s second price decrease in just over a month, following lower-than-expected delivery numbers.
On Tesla’s website, the Model 3 now starts at $38,990, down from its previous price of $40,240. Similarly, the Model 3 Long Range is now priced at $45,990 (previously $47,240), and the Model 3 Performance has a new price of $50,990 (formerly $53,240). Additionally, the Model Y Performance SUV has dropped from $54,490 to $52,490.
These price cuts are relatively small compared to the nearly 20 percent reductions made in September for the Model S and Model X EVs. They also don’t match the significant price drops seen in March, which lowered Model X costs by up to $10,000.
