Tesla has announced its EV delivery and production numbers for 2023, and the company had another successful year — but it faces tough competition from Chinese rival BYD. Elon Musk’s company manufactured 1.846 million EVs last year and delivered 1.809 million, surpassing the previous year’s deliveries by a significant 38 percent. These figures include 494,989 EVs produced in the last quarter and 484,507 delivered.
Initially, Tesla had projected to sell 2 million vehicles in 2023, but during its October 2023 earnings call, it revised this figure downwards. However, it did exceed analyst expectations for Q4 2023, as reported by CNBC.
In the last quarter, Tesla produced 476,777 Model 3 and Model Y EVs and delivered 461,538 of them. This includes sales of the updated “Highland” Model 3.
