Support Art Education: Frank Bowling’s Signed Prints Fund Art Supplies for 100 Schools

Renowned British abstract painter Sir Frank Bowling is selling hand-signed prints of his ‍work to raise funds for art supplies for 100 primary schools in England. The project aims to revolutionize art education and make it accessible to all students, ⁢regardless of their background or means.

The proceeds‍ from the sale of these prints will be used to create ‌”art packages” for ‍schools, including canvas, paint, and ‌a six-lesson curriculum, benefiting approximately 30,000 children. This initiative comes at a ⁤time when arts ⁢education in state schools is facing significant challenges‍ due to ‍budget cuts ‌and reduced provision.

The project, organized by ⁣Bowling’s son, Ben Bowling, hopes to raise £500,000 to bridge the gap and provide equal access to art education for all schoolchildren.

Frank Bowling, who gained recognition after a retrospective at Tate Britain in ⁤2019, aims to introduce children to the joy and possibilities of art, emphasizing the importance of empowering them to create.

Bowling, known for his large-scale abstract “map” paintings, hopes to inspire a new ‌generation‌ of artists and ensure⁣ that schools become places of artistic possibilities.

The hand-signed prints, titled “Understanding Frank,” are part‌ of this noble initiative to support art education⁢ in schools.
