Studio Ghibli’s first IMAX release will be Hayao Miyazaki’s final film


Hayao Miyazaki’s final film, titled How Do You Live?, will be released in IMAX theaters. This is a significant milestone for Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli, the animation studio he co-founded almost forty years ago. Anime News Network reports that the film will also be shown in Dolby Atmos, Dolby Cinema, and DTS:X when it premieres in Japan on July 14th.

Gizmodo points out that previous Studio Ghibli films did not have IMAX screenings during their original theatrical releases.
