Stellantis, Chrysler’s Parent Company, to Cut 400 Salaried Jobs in the U.S

Stellantis ⁢is implementing a ​reduction in its workforce, affecting approximately 400 salaried employees in the U.S. within its engineering, technology, and software divisions. This ⁢move is aimed at cost-cutting measures due to ​challenging market⁣ conditions faced by⁢ the automaker.

According to Stellantis,⁢ the ​layoffs will impact around 2%⁣ of ‍employees in those units following thorough​ organizational evaluations. ⁢The company had 11,800 U.S. salaried employees ⁤as of ‌the end of⁤ last year.⁢ The workforce reduction‍ will be ​effective from March 31.

Stellantis stated,⁤ “As ⁤the⁣ auto industry continues to​ face ​unprecedented​ uncertainties and‍ heightened competitive ​pressures ‌around the ‌world, ⁣Stellantis⁢ continues to make the ⁢appropriate ‌structural decisions across the enterprise to improve efficiency and optimize our cost structure,” in⁢ an emailed statement.

A company⁣ spokeswoman declined to disclose​ the exact number of employees affected by the ⁣layoffs.
