Proton Pass, the password manager from Proton, has recently undergone a major update focusing on enhancing security. The latest addition to the toolset is Pass Monitor, designed to notify users about any vulnerabilities in their accounts and potential data breaches.
Pass Monitor works automatically to alert users about any security issues and provides guidance on how to address them, especially in cases of data leaks from third-party services. It also actively scans the dark web to notify users if their Proton addresses, email aliases, or custom email addresses have been compromised for malicious activities. Users will receive immediate alerts in such situations to take necessary actions.
In addition to this, Pass Monitor features a password health check that identifies weak or reused passwords that need to be updated. The toolset also includes an inactive two-factor authentication detector that highlights accounts where 2FA can be enabled for added security.
