Ubisoft Entertainment has finally unveiled their most ambitious project yet – Star Wars: Outlaws, an action game set in the iconic space opera universe. The game features a full-fledged anti-hero in the form of scam artist Kee Vess, who embarks on the greatest heist in the Outer Rim. Ubisoft showcased the game in a 10-minute gameplay video at Ubisoft Forward, demonstrating how the criminal world of Star Wars will be implemented and what features an open world will provide for players.
Star Wars: Outlaws is the first open world game set in the Star Wars universe. The game is created by nine internal Ubisoft studios led by Massive Entertainment with the support of Lucasfilm Games. The story follows the daring Kee Vess and her android companion, Nix, as they navigate the criminal underworld during the period between the movies “Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back” and “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.” While the Galactic Empire gains victories over the rebels, Kee and Nix fight, steal, and deceive criminal syndicates.
The main features of Star Wars Outlaws’ gameplay:
- Explore different planets with bustling cities and restaurants before zooming through vast open landscapes on your speeder. Each planet brings new adventures, unique challenges, and tempting rewards if you’re willing to take the risk.
- Live the life of a high-stakes criminal. Players can turn any situation to their advantage: fight with their blaster, defeat enemies with stealth and gadgets, or find the right moments to distract enemies and gain an advantage through cunning.
- Complete dangerous and highly paid missions for criminal syndicates throughout the galaxy. Steal valuable goods, infiltrate secret locations, and outsmart enemies, becoming one of the most wanted people in the galaxy. Your every choice affects your constantly-changing reputation.
Star Wars: Outlaws is set to be released in 2024 on PC and consoles.
