Spanish Leader Sanchez Warns of Global Consequences of Israeli Gaza Attacks

Advocating for the European Union ​to recognize Palestine, Sanchez faces opposition from‌ Israel ⁢and ⁣its allies.

Recently, Sanchez, along with leaders from Ireland, Malta, and Slovenia, expressed⁤ readiness to recognize Palestine to⁣ aid in resolving the ongoing conflict ⁣in ⁢Gaza, where thousands have lost their lives.

Meetings with ‌leaders ‍from Norway and Portugal are ‍scheduled to further discuss this matter, as confirmed by Spanish government spokeswoman Pilar⁣ Alegria.

During a recent visit to Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, Sanchez ⁢hinted at Spain’s ⁤potential recognition of Palestine by the end of June, emphasizing ​the need for full UN⁣ membership for Palestine.

In ⁣an interview with Al Jazeera, Sanchez‍ reiterated Spain’s readiness to support and‌ recognize the State⁣ of Palestine, highlighting the importance​ of a new approach to‌ the ⁣longstanding issue.

Last week, the Palestinian Authority formally requested the United Nations ‌Security ‍Council to⁣ reconsider its 2011 application for ​full membership, as it currently holds ‌observer⁢ status.
