In an effort to streamline operations and optimize resources, Southwest Airlines is set to scale back its services to and from Atlanta in the upcoming year. This strategic move will involve the reduction of over 300 pilot and flight attendant positions as outlined in an internal memo obtained by CNBC.
These adjustments are being announced
While confirming that it will not be shutting down its crew base in Atlanta, Southwest has disclosed plans to trim staffing levels by up to 200 flight attendants and approximately 140 pilots starting from the April 2025
The airline has assured that affected crew members will not face layoffs but may need to bid for assignments in other locations.
