Slower Output Forces Tesla’s German Plant to Lower Production Target


Tesla has reportedly reduced the production⁢ target of its German plant to 4,350 cars per week in ⁢July ​and August. ⁤This ‌comes after the company achieved a production rate of 5,000 ⁤cars per⁣ week in ​March. According to internal documents and anonymous​ sources cited by Business Insider, Tesla⁣ plans to further‌ decrease its production target.

In⁣ late March, Tesla ⁢announced on X (formerly known as Twitter) that‍ it had reached‌ a production rate‍ of 5,000 cars per week at ⁣its Gruenheide plant near‌ Berlin. However, workers who wished to remain anonymous informed Business Insider​ that this was a one-time occurrence and that the average output has been⁢ much lower since then.

In June, Tesla stated that it was ‍hiring fewer temporary ⁢workers ‍as they were no longer necessary, but ‌the company assured that its production targets were still on track.

Business⁣ Insider reported that pictures of Tesla’s internal workflow software revealed that the company had lowered its production target for July and August to 870 ‌cars per day.
