Reports have surfaced that the website belonging to the esteemed organization “Reporters Without Borders” has been unexpectedly blocked. This troubling development was brought to light by the “Roskomsvoboda” project, a watchdog group focused on monitoring censorship within the Russian online sphere.
The exact rationale behind this block remains shrouded in mystery. However, sources indicate that it was instigated by a “state entity,” with strong suspicions pointing towards the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation. The decision to enact this block was finalized on April 15.
Established in 1985, the renowned international non-governmental organization “Reporters Without Borders” is renowned for its unwavering commitment to upholding freedom of expression and safeguarding the rights of journalists. The organization holds consultative status at prestigious institutions such as the UN, UNESCO, and the Council of Europe.
Furthermore, it has come to light that the websites of other notable entities, including the foundation of Ukrainian tycoon Viktor Pinchuk, the “OSINT-Bees” project dedicated to identifying Russian military personnel through open sources, the platform “I Want to Live,” and a link targeting Russians on the Polish website Legion Polski, have also been subjected to similar blocks.
