The Ukrainian OSINT project DeepState has successfully geolocated a disturbing video captured by Russian military forces at the “Kolotilovka” checkpoint in the Belgorod region. The footage depicts a member of the 155th Separate Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky Mechanized Brigade issuing threats to Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel in the Kursk region, while displaying the severed head of a Ukrainian soldier impaled on a stake.
DeepState highlights that during an attempted breach of this checkpoint by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on August 12, a tragic incident occurred. Allegations suggest that Russian forces decapitated a Ukrainian fighter; however, forensic analysis indicates that the head may have been separated due to an explosion and was found detached from the body.
This distressing event is not an isolated incident. Earlier in August, Dmitry Lubinets, representing the Verkhovna Rada on human rights, disclosed reports indicating that Russian military personnel had likely executed and dismembered a Ukrainian prisoner of war.
In April 2023, videos circulated across Telegram channels depicting heinous acts committed by Russian servicemen against Ukrainian soldiers. These included footage showing one soldier beheading another and another video showcasing bodies of Ukrainian troops with severed heads.
