Riot Games made a significant announcement today, revealing that it will be reducing its global workforce by 11 percent, resulting in the elimination of 530 positions. The company took a transparent approach by addressing players and “Rioters” separately, offering a severance package and other benefits to those affected.
Furthermore, Riot Games disclosed that it will be discontinuing its publishing label, Riot Forge, which has been involved in the development of six titles, including Bandle Tale: A League of Legends Story. In a letter to the gaming community, CEO Dylan Jadeja and co-chairman Marc Merrill explained that Forge was an experiment that will now be phased out to refocus on internal projects.
