Remedy has just announced in a press release that the development of Control 2 and the remakes of Max Payne 1 and 2 will be advancing in the first half of 2024, with an accelerated pace of development for both projects.
CEO of Remedy, Terho Virtala, expressed his excitement about this development, stating that the successful launch of Alan Wake 2 has provided support for their other gaming projects. With the staff freed up after the release of Alan Wake 2, Condor, Control 2, and the remake of Max Payne 1 & 2 have increased their development pace, and are expected to enter the next stages of development in the first half of 2024. Virtala also emphasized the significance of the established franchises, Control and Alan Wake, within the Remedy Connected Universe, and their future development and expansion.
Previously in October of last year, Remedy confirmed that Control 2 was still in the “concept verification” stage, but since then, the development process has progressed noticeably. Simultaneously, the studio announced that the remakes of Max Payne 1 and 2 have transitioned to the “ready for production” stage.
While the release date for Control 2 and the remakes of Max Payne 1 and 2 is not yet known, Remedy claimed in 2022 that they are expected to be released around 2025.
