In the spring of this year, the Titanfall franchise turned 9 years old, and Respawn Entertainment has prepared a pleasant surprise for users on the eve of its 10th anniversary. Titanfall 2 was released in 2016, but for many years the game has suffered from various problems.
In addition to problems with cheaters, Titanfall 2 encountered issues with servers and matchmaking system, which prevented its numerous fans from enjoying the game for the past few years. However, today Respawn Entertainment updated the game, fixing the main issues and introducing new content for the first time in several years. The latest update is significant and includes the long-awaited additions for game enthusiasts. Respawn Entertainment introduced a new mode called “Attack on Titan”.
Respawn Entertainment also subtly placed a teaser for a potential new game. The developers added Nessie, the plush mascot from Apex Legends, to the list of places that were fixed in the recent update. Along with this, the recent season of Apex Legends ended with a teaser that read:
Incoming transmission… Subject: Nessie… 1394521200, 1477638000, 1549267200.
The sequence of numbers from the update refers to the UNIX timestamp for Titanfall, Titanfall 2, and Apex Legends. Putting all this together, fans speculated that Respawn Entertainment is preparing for Titanfall 3.
Although Titanfall 3 was in development for about a year and then canceled in favor of Apex Legends, the recent updates could be the beginning of something bigger for the first-person shooter.
Vince Zampella has already expressed interest in returning to the franchise, but nothing has been officially confirmed yet. However, those interested in trying out Titanfall 2 can purchase the game on Steam, as it is currently on sale with a 90% discount.
Thanks to this discount, thousands of players have returned to the fantastic shooter, breathing new life into Titanfall 2.
