According to diplomatic sources speaking to Al Jazeera Arabic, Qatar has emphasized its commitment to maintaining its role as an honest mediator between Hamas and Israel, rejecting any attempts to use it as a tool for pressure.
Qatar made it clear that it will only engage in mediation when requested and will not allow any interference that could compromise its integrity.
Despite facing criticism and attacks from certain parties, Qatar remains steadfast in its approach, refusing to be swayed from its successful track record in international and regional mediations, including the Palestinian conflict.
Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani expressed concerns about the misuse of the mediation for narrow political interests, prompting a reevaluation of Qatar’s role in the process.
Reports suggest that Qatar is considering closing Hamas’ political office in Doha as part of a broader review of the mediation efforts between the group and Israel.
