As it is known, several selected bloggers and journalists have already had the opportunity to play the full version of Baldur’s Gate 3, and among them was the YouTuber Fextralife, who shared his opinion and revealed some details about the second act. In his humble opinion, Baldur’s Gate 3 is much more than it seems and has already become the game of the year for him.
I don’t know if the game will receive an award at The Game Awards, as Baldur’s Gate 3 is not as mainstream as The Legend of Zelda or Starfield. But for me, even though the year is not over and I haven’t played many things, the decision has already been made.
Sven Vincke, the head of Larian Studios, reacted to this review on his Twitter.
We were not prepared for such final words. The pressure on us has increased – we will try not to mess up. Thank you for this – the energy is flowing through the studio right now.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is a large-scale open-world role-playing game from the creators of the Divinity: Original Sin series. Larian announced the postponement of the PC release date by one month, from August 31st to October 3rd, in order to avoid a clash with the release of Starfield by Bethesda in early September. Meanwhile, the release of the PlayStation 5 version has been slightly delayed until September 6th, and the release dates for the Xbox Series X and S versions are still unknown (more about the delay of Baldur’s Gate 3 on Xbox here).
In an interview, Vincke said that, according to the developers’ opinion, a standard playthrough of Baldur’s Gate 3 takes between 75 and 100 hours. However, players who want to “do everything” should expect this number to double.
