The Cyberpunk 2077 quest director Pavel Sasko and quest designer Despoina Anetaki have revealed in an interview with Kotaku that the main character V will be focused on the situation happening in the new location of Dogtown. However, they have given hope that there may be another way to escape Silverhand in his head – your love story in Night City will continue. The studio is not ready to disclose details, but there will be a little bit of similar content.
There’s going to be a little bit of content there, but mostly it’s a spy thriller. V’s attention is in Dogtown because that’s where all this story about saving himself through the plotline is, but there will be a little bit of similar content.
The developers are hesitant to delve into details to avoid spoilers, but Sasko compared the new romantic relationships in the DLC to the Hearts of Stone expansion for The Witcher 3, which unlocked additional dialogue with characters like Yennefer after completing the game.
We put some connections in those places where it made sense between the main game and the expansion, but I don’t want to go into details. We tried to do it well. It’s always our idea, you know, just to take care of players who enjoy these connections.
It seems that while Kerry, Judy, Panam, and River may not be fighting alongside you in Phantom Liberty, at least some aspects of these romances will be touched upon in the expansion. Whether this means new dialogues or text conversations is currently unknown.
