Pelé: Brazilians bid last farewell with wake and coffin procession

Brazilians have began paying their last respects to soccer nice Pelé with a 24-hour public wake, which started on Monday on the Urbano Caldeira Stadium, the house of his former soccer membership, Santos.

The wake is open to the general public and mourners started getting into the stadium Monday morning.

On Tuesday, a funeral procession will then carry Pelé’s coffin via the streets of town of Santos, together with passing down the road the place Pelé’s 100-year-old mom, Celeste Arantes, lives.

The procession will proceed to Pelé’s last resting place, the Memorial Necrópole Ecumênica cemetery, the place a personal funeral can be held for members of the family.
