When most people think of the pharmaceutical industry, they don’t usually associate it with environmental decline. However, a 2019 study by The Conversation revealed that drug companies produce more carbon dioxide equivalents per million dollars than the automotive industry. The pharmaceutical market is 28 percent smaller but 13 percent more polluting than the automotive sector, according to the study.
