Exciting times are ahead for fans of Grand Theft Auto Online! Today, on June 13, it’s update day. The new free expansion, San Andreas Mercenaries, brings in new missions, various content, and important quality-of-life improvements. However, it also takes away over 180 cars and motorcycles from in-game stores. This removal of content has not been well-received by fans, especially since some of the removed cars are now only accessible through a GTA+ paywall.
Since its launch in October 2013, GTA Online has consistently received updates, expansions, and ports to different consoles, such as PS4 and PS5. Players keep coming back to this online open-world crime simulator. The latest update, San Andreas Mercenaries, adds even more new content and smart changes. For example, players no longer have to repeatedly press the X button to sprint. However, it appears that this update has removed more content than it has added. Fans have discovered that at least 189 vehicles have been taken out of in-game stores, making it extremely difficult to purchase and use them unless they were already unlocked.
In a pre-update news post on the company’s official website on June 8, Rockstar did mention that some cars would be removed. However, the warning was vague and did not specify the number or specific cars. Many people assumed it would only be a few outdated vehicles that no one cares about in 2023. But that turned out not to be the case.
