In God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla, players can now finally acquire the Blade of Olympus. This powerful weapon, introduced in God of War 2, has been absent since the series reboot, despite appearing in other games. However, in the new DLC, players can obtain this weapon from Kratos’ past as he confronts his history.
Warning: The following article contains spoilers for Baldur’s Gate 3.
Kratos embarks on a new adventure in the Valhalla DLC, delving into his past in a roguelite fashion. Throughout the DLC, players will have various weapons, upgrades, and customization options to navigate through. Among these choices, the Blade of Olympus stands out as a particularly powerful option for defeating enemies, especially for long-time fans of the franchise.
To obtain the Blade of Olympus, players must progress through the early story missions in the Valhalla DLC. Fortunately, it is obtained relatively early on as the end reward for completing the second objective in the DLC mode, Homecoming. During this objective, players will encounter Helios (or a part of him) once again and must escort him to a cage for destruction. After a cut scene, players will be instructed to press both sticks, activating the Blade of Olympus for the first time.
Once obtained, players will leave Valhalla shortly after. If they wish to use the Blade of Olympus again, they must stop at the Shores before returning. The Shores also serve as the location for permanent upgrades in God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla. Near the stairs leading into Valhalla, there is a designated spot called the Spartan Rage selector, where players can customize what happens when Kratos’ rage meter fills. By scrolling through the options and selecting the Legacy option, players can enhance the Blade of Olympus.
