Google has expanded its Google Search Generative Experience (SGE) project to include the Japanese and Indian markets. The SGE program, which combines generative AI with Google’s search expertise, aims to provide summarized and curated answers to user queries instead of a list of webpages. Unlike Microsoft’s Bing AI, Google incorporates its AI directly into the existing search bar rather than using a separate chatbot assistant. The company initially launched the SGE program in the US and has now extended access to users in Japan and India.
In Japan, the AI-enhanced search feature will be available in Japanese, while in India, it will be available in both English and Hindi. According to a blog post on Google Search, the expansion aims to improve the search experience for users in these countries.
