Benjamin Netanyahu’s actions are causing Israel to lose its strongest allies.
Over 30 years ago, during the time of President George H.W. Bush, Secretary of State James Baker was so enraged by a statement made by Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Binyamin Netanyahu that he wanted to expel the Israeli ambassador. The ambassador was spared, but Mr. Baker banned Mr. Netanyahu from the State Department.
Years later, when Mr. Netanyahu became prime minister in 1996, he offended President Bill Clinton during their first meeting. Mr. Clinton was so upset that he vented to his aides, questioning Mr. Netanyahu’s behavior and authority.
