Bruce Lehrmann defamation trial moves into day 12

Victorian ⁤police have‍ clarified ‌that nine penalty notices were issued following a climate protest in Melbourne this‌ morning.

Police had previously advised‌ that ​ten‍ were ⁣issued.

As we reported earlier,​ about 15 Extinction Rebellion activists ⁣staged a roadblock at the⁢ Montague Street exit⁣ of ​the⁢ West Gate ⁢Freeway about 7.30am this morning.

An amended police statement said:

Officers arrived and spoke⁣ to⁢ the protestors and gave then a direction to‍ leave the roadway. Nine protestors failed to comply and ​were removed by police. As a result the nine people removed have‍ received penalty notices for obstructing a roadway. The incident lasted approximately 20 minutes.

Donald Trump Jr postpones this Sunday’s live Sydney appearance

Donald Trump Jr’s tour to Australia has ​been postponed for a third time.

In September,⁣ my colleague Andrew ⁤Messenger reported that the tour been ​delayed ⁣for⁣ a second time due ⁢to a​ “scheduling conflict”.

Turning Point Australia‍ has notified that the Sydney event, scheduled for this Sunday, will no⁢ longer be going ahead on ⁤this date. A statement reads:

Turning Point wish to advise that the postponed⁤ event ‌Donald Trump Jr. Live, scheduled at ICC Sydney on Sunday 10 December 2023,⁤ will no longer be ⁣going‍ ahead on this date.

No action is required by ticket holders. A further update ⁢on the event details will be provided in ‍the coming weeks.

The son of former US president Donald Trump was‌ scheduled to tour the country in July,⁢ but⁣ it was postponed ⁤to ⁤September amid claims of visa‍ trouble. The tour⁢ was‌ pushed back to December following a scheduling conflict.

No new date for Sunday’s event‍ has been announced. ⁤Turning Point Australia⁣ has been contacted⁣ for comment.
