MediaTek has introduced its flagship Dimensity 9300 mobile processor, utilizing TSMC’s 3rd-generation 4nm+ technology. The company claims significant improvements in performance and power consumption compared to last year’s Dimensity 9200. In certain key benchmarks, it even matches the performance of Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. This recent launch, along with Google’s Tensor G3, demonstrates healthy competition in the high-end mobile processor market.
The Dimensity 9300 features MediaTek’s “all-big core architecture” focused on performance, consisting of four ultra-large cores and four big cores, totaling eight cores. In contrast, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 includes a single ultra-large Cortex-X4 core, five big Cortex-A720 cores, and two smaller Cortex-A520 cores to balance energy efficiency and performance.
As a result, the Dimensity 9300 delivers 15 percent more performance than the Dimensity 9200 at the same power level, or a 33 percent power improvement…
