IT leaders are encountering significant challenges in the adoption and expansion of generative AI (genAI), such as talent shortages, data quality issues, AI governance gaps, and risk management concerns.
According to a Gartner Research report, at least 30% of genAI projects will be abandoned post proof of concept (POC) due to these obstacles and others by 2025.
Gartner also highlights rising costs and unclear business value as key contributors to genAI project failures.
Gartner’s research paper on scaling generative AI emphasizes the importance of prioritizing business value, enhancing AI literacy, and promoting responsible AI practices for successful outcomes.
