Marriott and MGM Collaborate to Unite Loyalty Programs, Targeting Business Travelers



Marriott‍ and MGM ‍Resorts International‍ have ⁣announced a⁢ partnership on Monday to⁤ connect their ⁤loyalty‌ programs and⁢ provide‍ customers with ⁢more options​ for redeeming rewards.

As​ part of the ‌agreement, ⁣MGM guests in the United States can earn Marriott Bonvoy‌ rewards points, ‍while ‍Bonvoy ⁣members⁣ will⁢ gain access​ to 17⁣ MGM⁣ properties when they use their‍ points.

This ‌partnership‌ will increase ⁢Marriott’s global portfolio‍ offerings ‌by ⁣2.4% with MGM’s 40,000‍ rooms.

The ⁢aim of ⁤this⁢ collaboration is to target‍ frequent ‌and business travelers who tend to​ be ⁤loyal to specific ‍hotel brands ‌in ⁢order ​to accumulate rewards. Loyalty ⁢programs play a crucial role in driving business and differentiating⁣ competitors, especially ‍as travel‌ continues to recover from ‍the ⁣impact‌ of the ⁢pandemic.

“The value lies ⁣in the quantity and quality of ​the customers,”​ said MGM CEO Bill Hornbuckle in ‌an interview ⁣with ​CNBC ⁤on​ Monday.
