A massive protest took place outside the Senedd (Welsh parliament) as thousands of people gathered to oppose a proposed overhaul of farming subsidies that they believe threatens their industry, according to PA reports. Protesters cheered, waved Welsh flags, and held placards in Welsh and English reading “No Farmers, No Food.” They are objecting to the Welsh Labour government’s proposal to require more land to be set aside for environmental schemes. The event in Cardiff Bay was the largest protest so far, with speeches from Senedd politicians from the Welsh Conservatives and Plaid Cymru.
