The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was recently released and players are already using Link’s new arm powers to do terrible things to Koroks. The trailers leading up to the game’s release showcased the ability to build vehicles with Link’s Ultrahand ability, which has not disappointed in terms of creative freedom. Unfortunately, players have been using this freedom to torment Koroks.
Players have taken to Twitter to share their new Tears of the Kingdom vehicles, which use Koroks in horrifying ways. For example, Twitter user Pory shared a particularly brutal vehicle that they called “the Korok Rotisserie Machine” which features several Koroks fused together and spinning over multiple fires. Another user named gudaguda enjoyer shared a vehicle they created with a Korok fused to a cross on the back, without offering an explanation as to why they designed it that way.
As in Breath of the Wild, Koroks are scattered around both the Surface and the Sky. The Koroks are in need of help from Link to solve various problems, and that includes transporting them to specific locations. As a reward, Link is given Korok Seeds, which are used as a currency to upgrade Link’s inventory space for weapons, bows, and shields. This is particularly useful given item durability and the ability to create weapons with Fuse. However, these creatures have ended up being the target of player creativity in painful ways.
It didn’t take long for players to test the new mechanics added in Tears of the Kingdom, and unfortunately for the Koroks, the ability to fuse them to vehicles with Ultrahand left them vulnerable to becoming part of horrifying creations. However, even with the less-than-friendly ordeals players have put Koroks through, these creations show the potential for building and crafting for future games. Breath of the Wild was thought to be the peak of the series, but Nintendo has built on its legacy with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, keeping the future of Zelda bright.
