Julian Assange has officially admitted to violating the Espionage Act in a federal courthouse in Saipan, the capital of Northern Mariana Islands. After striking a plea deal with the US government, the WikiLeaks founder was released from prison on June 24 and promptly flew from Stansted Airport to Saipan. Despite pleading guilty to charges of unlawfully obtaining and sharing classified information related to US national defense, Assange maintained his defense in court.
Julian has made his appearance at the federal court building in Saipan.
One can only imagine the sensory overload he must be experiencing, emerging from years of isolation and the confines of his high-security Belmarsh prison cell.
