Health authorities reported that at least eight individuals lost their lives and many others were injured in Israeli assaults throughout Gaza. Residents in northern Gaza were instructed to evacuate their homes by Israel.
According to health officials, seven people were killed in central Gaza by two Israeli air strikes on Monday, while another man was killed in Khan Younis in southern Gaza by a separate strike.
Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s armed wings engaged Israeli forces across the Gaza Strip using antitank rockets and mortar fire.
The Israeli military claimed to have destroyed military infrastructure and eliminated numerous Palestinian fighters, including high-ranking Hamas and Islamic Jihad leaders, over the past few days.
Since October of last year, approximately 40,988 Palestinians have been killed and 94,825 wounded as a result of Israeli attacks on the besieged enclave. On October 7th last year alone, 1,139 individuals died during Hamas-led attacks on southern Israel.
In response to rockets fired from Beit Lahiya towards Ashkelon on Sunday night, Palestinians residing there were ordered to evacuate by the Israeli military. The area has been designated as a hazardous combat zone due to repeated warnings issued previously.
The military disclosed that one rocket was intercepted while another landed in the sea earlier. Nearly all of Gaza’s population has been displaced multiple times due to ongoing conflicts.
Al Jazeera’s Tareq Abu Azzoum reported from Deir el-Balah in central Gaza that residents of northern Strip are receiving evacuation notices but have nowhere else to go except moving between neighborhoods.
