According to the director of Al-Shifa Hospital, at least 25 people were killed in Israeli attacks on a Gaza City school.
Mohammad Abu Salmiya, the director of Gaza’s largest hospital complex, stated, “We received 25 martyrs from Al-Buraq School after missile and artillery strikes targeted the school this morning,” in an interview with Al Jazeera on Friday.
While Reuters reported the director’s statement as at least 20 Palestinians killed, AFP news agency estimated the number to be around 50 people.
Video footage circulating on social media depicted numerous bodies scattered throughout the school in the Al-Nasr neighborhood following the attack. The school had been serving as a shelter for those whose homes had been destroyed.
The Israeli army has escalated its bombardment of the Gaza Strip, frequently targeting schools, mosques, and hospitals.
