The Israeli military has issued fresh evacuation directives for Palestinians in the northern region of Gaza, while Gaza City prepares for a potential ground incursion.
Army spokesperson Avichay Adraee shared the evacuation notices for various neighborhoods in Beit Hanoon and Beit Lahiya, areas heavily impacted by Israel’s previous ground invasion during the conflict ten months ago.
In a communication to Palestinian residents, he highlighted that Hamas and other factions were launching rockets from their vicinity towards Israel, prompting immediate and robust military action.
“For your own protection, it is imperative to relocate promptly to the established shelters in the heart of Gaza City,” emphasized the army representative.
Reports from Israel’s Channel 12 indicated preparations for a significant ground operation in Gaza City, following an Israeli airstrike that resulted in the deaths of three Palestinians on Wednesday, as confirmed by medical sources.
Al Jazeera journalists confirmed additional casualties from air raids in the city, with victims discovered in Gaza City’s Daraj neighborhood and the Zeitoun area.
During overnight assaults, Israeli strikes demolished two residences and makeshift shelters housing displaced individuals in Deir el-Balah in central Gaza, resulting in three fatalities and ten injuries.
Palestinians who relocated to the region after being assured by Israeli forces of its safety are now faced with the daunting task of rebuilding their lives once more.
“Many residents here have experienced multiple displacements - from Rafah, Khan Younis, and central Gaza – only to find themselves crowded into Deir el-Balah,” shared a local resident with Al Jazeera.
“Despite Israeli claims of it being a secure zone, why are they targeting this area now? It’s all misinformation.”
No place is secure in #Gaza. Amid relentless military actions, families are uprooted with no refuge to seek.
Evacuation mandates have become routine, shelters are overwhelmed, and individuals are compelled to return to devastated regions…
