Baldur’s Gate 3 is teeming with captivating characters waiting to be discovered, from the moment the adventure begins on the beach to the lively streets of Baldur’s Gate. However, there’s a mysterious character lurking in the game who may not be who they claim to be. By piecing together clues, it becomes evident that a key character in BG3 might be an impostor.
[Warning: The following article contains spoilers for Baldur’s Gate 3.]
Baldur’s Gate 3 does an exceptional job of introducing new characters while also featuring familiar faces from previous installments. Jaheira and Minsc make a return, joining a new party in BG3 as companions in the fight against the Absolute. However, they are not the only ones. Viconia DeVir and Sarevok Anchev also play significant roles in BG3, while Volo and Eliminster make appearances throughout the story.
But it seems that Minsc, Jaheira, and Viconia may not be the only former Baldur’s Gate companions in BG3. Evidence suggests that Edwin Odesseiron can also be encountered, but not in his true form. Observant players have noticed inconsistencies related to Lorroakan, the owner of Sorcerous Sundries, leading to the intriguing theory that Lorroakan is actually Edwin in disguise. But what is this evidence, and is Lorroakan truly who he claims to be?
Lorroakan is first mentioned at the beginning of Baldur’s Gate 3 by Aradin and his crew, when the party learns about the relic known as the Nightsong. Rolan, a tiefling wizard in the Druid Grove, also mentions Lorroakan, expressing eagerness to begin his apprenticeship with the renowned Lorroakan upon reaching Baldur’s Gate. This is where the first inconsistency arises, as Rolan’s description contradicts what Gale has heard about Lorroakan.
