Introducing Windows 11: Experience the New Adware Integration

Gone are the ⁤days when purchasing a retail version of Windows‌ 11 meant an‍ ad-free ‍experience. The most recent update to Windows 11 (KB5036980) ⁢introduces ads for apps in the “recommended” section ⁣of ⁢the Start Menu, a⁢ crucial part of the operating system.

According to the release notes, the Start menu’s Recommended section ⁣will now display Microsoft Store apps from a select group of developers.

While the app suggestions are ‍turned on by default, you can easily revert to an ad-free Windows experience post-update.‌ Simply navigate to Settings, choose Personalization >⁢ Start, and toggle⁣ off the “Show recommendations ‍for⁣ tips, app ‌promotions‍ and⁣ more” option.

This new addition comes shortly after being tested in an ⁣Insider beta, showcasing ⁤Microsoft’s agility in implementing changes. It’s clear that user feedback ‍may not have been a priority in this swift rollout.
