In a recent interview with The Times, Ian McKellen, known for his iconic role as Gandalf in “The Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit” trilogies, discussed the upcoming film “The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum.”
McKellen expressed his willingness to reprise the role of Gandalf in the new film, despite being 85 years old and uncertain about the future. While there is no script yet from Warner Bros. and Peter Jackson, McKellen humorously mentioned that he already has long hair for another role and is prepared to join “The Hunt for Gollum” whenever needed.
“Life is fleeting. A glance at your calendar is a reminder of your mortality,” McKellen added thoughtfully.
“The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum” is expected to hit theaters in 2026.
