The highly-anticipated Starfield game from Bethesda is set to come out September 6th, 2023, but some may be able to start playing early. Starfield was given an in-depth preview at the Starfield Showcase, in which players learned more about the mechanics of the game, such as the base-building and general storyline. After multiple delays, Starfield is set to release this September on Xbox Series X|S, Windows, and Steam.
After learning more about the story and setting of Starfield, players are eager to get their hands on the game. With a more concrete release date, the new Xbox exclusive has high expectations to fill. This is the first new IP that Bethesda has produced in 25 years following games like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4.
Playing in Early Access will be determined by the pre-order edition of Starfield that players choose to purchase. There are five current editions of Starfield that players can choose from, including the Game Pass Edition. The Game Pass version of Starfield will include the Old Mars Skin Pack that the Standard Edition pre-order will, and is free for subscribers. To play early, players will have to select one of the upgraded editions or purchase it if they are not subscribers.
The three options for early access include the Digital Premium Edition, the Premium Edition, and the Constellation Edition. All three of these pre-order options will give players up to five days of early access, starting September 1st, 2023. This will depend on when players purchase the pre-order and is dependent on the purchase date, time zone, and possible outages.
All of these options also include expanded story content, skin packs, and access to the Artbook and Original Soundtrack. The physical version of the Premium Edition includes a Steelbook Display Case and Constellation Patch. The Constellation Edition includes some extra collectibles, including the Starfield Chronomark Watch and case and an engraved credit stick with the digital code for the game.
