Multiple airlines had to stop their flights on Friday, with others cautioning passengers about delays and service interruptions as an extraordinary IT outage affected operations worldwide.
At the start of Friday, cybersecurity leader CrowdStrike encountered a significant disruption related to a technology update. Various organizations, including Microsoft, were in a rush to fix applications and services utilized by numerous companies.
Flight information screens at airports globally showed the infamous “blue screen of death,” signaling a Microsoft system error.
