Comcast’s NBCUniversal has always been a strong supporter of the Olympics, but this year they went all out to attract more viewers, especially for their streaming platform, Peacock.
Their efforts have been rewarded with over 30 million viewers tuning in to NBC’s TV and streaming services to catch the games. This led to a record-breaking $1.2 billion in advertising revenue.
Looking beyond the Games, NBC executives are now focused on leveraging this success to enhance future live sports coverage in the competitive streaming and live sports market.
Jenny Storms, the chief marketing officer of entertainment and sports at NBCUniversal, shared, ”We made significant changes to our strategy two years ago, and it has paid off tremendously.”
