Get Ready for Summer with Sonos’ Upcoming Roam 2 Portable Speaker


Sonos is gearing up ‍to launch the successor‌ to the Roam speaker from⁤ 2021, just in time for your outdoor summer adventures. ⁣According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in the Power On newsletter, the ‍Roam 2 speaker is expected to be ⁤released in June. The original Roam was Sonos’ second attempt at a portable speaker, featuring a slim, ⁣triangular design that weighs less than a pound but‍ delivers impressive sound.

Gurman also mentioned ⁢that the new‍ Roam will include the same touch-sensitive control panel found in​ some of Sonos’ other speakers, such as the Era 100. ‍Additionally, Sonos is said to ⁢be developing a new⁢ app ⁤to pair with its devices, starting with the Roam 2 and a forthcoming set of premium headphones⁤ positioned as a competitor to AirPods Max. Gurman reports that these headphones ⁢will be priced at $450 and are expected to be released in June, slightly ​later than originally planned.
