Located in Detroit, Ford’s ⁣latest venture involves reviving and repurposing a historic ⁤train station that had been left neglected ​for years, serving as a poignant reminder of the⁢ city’s struggles but now set to become the hub of the automaker’s⁤ technological advancements.

This $950 million initiative includes‌ the renovation of⁢ the ⁤iconic 18-story Michigan Central ⁤Station, along with a 270,000-square-foot building and various supporting ⁣facilities.

The Michigan Central campus ‍and station, spanning ‌30​ acres, were first announced in 2018 with a target opening date of 2022. However, due to the pandemic and the extensive ⁢restoration⁢ work‌ required, the ⁢reopening was delayed. Ford is marking the ​completion of the restoration​ of this historic train station on Thursday.
