GSC Game World’s iconic survival horror shooter series, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., is finally making its way to consoles. The series takes players on a journey through an alternate version of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, where they encounter strange phenomena and mutants following a second Chernobyl disaster in 2006.
The Xbox Partner Preview on March 6, 2024, announced that the S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Legends of the Zone Trilogy is now available for download and play on Xbox consoles for $39.99. This trilogy includes S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl, S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Clear Sky, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Call of Pripyat. GSC Game World has also made significant improvements to the game’s controls to make them more accessible for controllers, such as implementing a weapon wheel and fine-tuning aiming and menu navigation.
Pre-orders for the S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Legends of the Zone Trilogy have appeared at Japanese retailers, and it has been confirmed that the trilogy will also be coming to PlayStation 4, with PS5 players using backward compatibility to play the title. However, PlayStation players may have to wait a bit longer, as the titles are expected to launch on Sony’s consoles three months after Xbox, on June 27 in Japan for 6,578 yen (approximately $44).
Since the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games were previously exclusive to PC, this marks the first time that console-only gamers will have the opportunity to experience them. With the upcoming release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, now is the perfect time for players to catch up on the lore of the series and explore the horrors of the alternate Chernobyl. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is set to be released on Xbox Series S/X and PC, making it an exciting time for fans of the series.
