Following the controversy surrounding the latest version of Escape from Tarkov, Battlestate Games has acknowledged their error and decided to provide additional benefits to those who own the premium Edge of Darkness edition. Today, the company’s CEO, Nikita Buyanov, announced further updates.
Continuing my response to the current situation, I want to extend my apologies to the fans and the EFT gaming community for the negative emotions caused. I underestimated the reaction and have learned from it for future decisions.
What can the Tarkov community expect next:
- Access to PvE for Edge of Darkness edition holders will now be permanent, with a gradual rollout due to server capacity constraints.
- Mod support will be introduced after the PvE release.
- Bonuses from The Unheard Edition will be adjusted, with additional rewards for those who upgraded at the original price.
- Matchmaking priority for Edge of Darkness will be removed to ensure fairness, with unique items being added instead.
We are committed to delivering patches, new content, events, and the full release of Escape from Tarkov, despite recent events.
Thank you for your support, criticism, and for your continued interest in the ongoing situation.
In response to comments on the subreddit, Buyanov confirmed that Edge of Darkness owners will still receive all future DLCs as promised. However, there was no clarification on whether PvE would be considered part of the DLC package for EoD owners.
Buyanov did not address this specific question.
